Successful Validation and Verification will allow project developers to issue JCM-certified carbon credits, ensuring their projects meet the high environmental and social integrity standards established by the Joint Crediting Mechanism.
The Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) is a bilateral carbon market initiative led by the Government of Japan and partnering countries to facilitate the diffusion of leading low-carbon technologies and to contribute to sustainable development. Japan and Indonesia are aiming to use JCM as part of Article 6 of the Paris agreement. Under the JCM, verified emission reductions can be credited and used to meet climate commitments, with third-party entities like SustainCERT playing a vital role in ensuring environmental integrity.
For more information about JCM, visit their website or find us listed on their Third-Party Entity page.
As a designated TPE under the Japan–Indonesia JCM, SustainCERT is now authorized to support project developers seeking validation and verification of eligible GHG mitigation activities in the region. For further details or to discuss your project, please get in touch.
